  • Abstract
    In this paper, we first analyze the factor that affects the performance of an adaptive antenna array applied after the despreading operation; then, to improve the performance, a local virtual signal tuned adaptive antenna array applied to a CDMA mobile station is proposed. The proposed adaptive array detects the spatial signature of incident signals and generates local uncorrelated virtual signals to compute the array weights. Lab and field measurements show that the proposed adaptive array has a better performance than a conventional LMS adaptive array that is applied after the despreading operation.
