Abstract :
Implementation of an array of monopoles antenna capable of sector beam steering for the wireless ad-hoc network applications is proposed. The antenna operating in the 2.4 GHz band with one active central element surrounded by 8 parasitic elements on a finite ground plane is simply made of FR4 PCB, and the parasitic elements are switched to be short or open to act like a corner reflector for beam shaping and steering. The simulated and experimental results are presented to justify the feasibility of the antenna configuration and open/short control of the parasitic elements in the antenna.
