Abstract
Application of metamaterials to various devices in the microwave region has been done successfully in the past. The realization of artificial properties can be divided in two large groups. One uses the inclusion of resonant particles to synthesize new properties whereas the transmission line approach is based on loading a line appropriately. This paper is based on the last approach. Here we investigate the application of such a line as matching element using it as line transformer in a practical example.
