Abstract :
We present a concept for the laser induced excitation of retinal ganglion cells, using the heat induced by the absorption as an activation mechanism. Furthermore we evaluate the possibility of a durable excitation, potentially yielding a way to overcome the dysfunction of receptors by directly projecting images on the ganglion cell layer.
