Abstract :
This paper presents the establishments of sea water disturbance, ship roll motion and a design of simplified fuzzy controller (SFC), a class of fuzzy controller which is developed to improve the efficiency of real-time implementation when it is applied to the fin stabilizer. The triangle membership function, simplified Larsen product inference and formulated fuzzy role base are adopted in SFC, focusing on reducing the calculation time and memory space. With the help of Fuzzy Logic Toolbox in MATLAB, SFC is introduced to control the roll motion of ship and the simulation results show satisfactory performance.
