Abstract
A unique model of pulse-width-modulated (PWM) converters, operating in the continuous conduction mode, is developed. This model is compatible with general purpose electronic circuit programs such as SPICE. It can be used to simulate DC, small signal and transient behavior of PWM converters. The simulation of switching regulators is simplified by using this equivalent circuit model to replace the nonlinear part of the PWM converters. An effective switching regulator analysis program, called SWAN, is developed and used to simulate small-signal characteristics of a switching regulator
