Abstract :
This paper discusses a procedure to identify the mould level process. Not only the fluctuation of the mould level due to the change in the stopper position x and the casting speed Vp is considered, but also the influence of the variation of the weight of the molten steel in the tundish. Based on the identified models of the components of the mould level control loop, the performances of several regulators are simulated and investigated. The best design is then used in a real-life continuous casting machine in a steel factory
