Abstract :
A dumbbell U-slot antenna using radial stub feeding is designed for millimeter-wave applications. This antenna takes simpler topology than other antennas designed for realizing wide band characteristic. In addition, the proposed antenna adjusts the desired frequencies easily. The dumbbell U-slot is employed to provide an advantage of making impedance matching possible over wide band. The operating frequency of the proposed antenna is chosen as 77 GHz, and this is obtained by optimizing the physical dimension of the dumbbell U-slot. The simulated result of return loss shows less than -10 dB from 66 GHz to 87 GHz. The simulated gain is obtained 4.6 dBi at 77 GHz.
