Abstract :
Automatic-tuning has been extensively used in industrial controllers during the last decade. Often derived from the Ziegler-Nichols rules, a number of extensions have been proposed. This paper presents a two steps procedure for tuning PID controllers: a pre-tuning is first applied, then an optimization scheme is used, based on the time response of the close-loop system. An application on a multi-PID controllers designed for alternators is described
