Abstract :
In this paper, the characteristics of the hard disk drive (HDD) industry is analyzed. The requirements for collaboration are investigated, and then the collaborative design and engineering technology is introduced. The architecture for collaboration in HDD design and manufacturing is proposed. Finally, the implementation of collaborative environments in the form of the collaboration portal is discussed.
