Abstract
With the development of industries of electrical power, communication, railway transportation, and traffic management, the large capacity battery systems have been widely used. Based on theoretical evaluation of systemic MTTF(Mean Time To Failure) and reliability, some combined methods are suggested to evaluate the reliability of battery systems. As a result, it is demonstrated that the reliability of the parallel-series system is superior to both series-parallel system and the combination of series and parallel systems. The findings in the present work provide important guidelines in the design and installation of future construction and the renovation of existing large storage battery systems.
