Abstract
Free space optical communications (FSO) is now common for point to point communications between fixed locations on land, and is also used for communication between moving platforms on land, on the surface of the sea, in air, and in space. We compare some characteristics of several modulation schemes that are used in FSO and get the results that MDPIM, DPIM and DH-PIM are more suitable for future free-space optical communication. MDPIM is a new method which is based on DPIM.
