Abstract :
The information of urban road surface facilities cannot be updated in a timely fashion. This has been identified as an urgent problem to urban manager in some cities of China where the speed of economic development and the population growth is fast. This paper presents an Urban Road Surface Facilities Management System (URSFMS) based on Mobile Mapping System for updating system database timely. URSFMS is designed and developed on the base of Wuhan LD2000-R MMS, which can efficiently and low-cost acquire the information of road and its surface facilities. URSFMS and adopts C/S software system structure, C# as the programming language and SQL Server as back database server, as well as TrueMapEngine API and ArcEngine as development tools. URSFMS provides several essential functions such as positive image and video browsing on both sides of urban roads, the measurement of facilities and other objects based positive images, object identification by retrieving the images, and so on. To show how URSFMS can effectively deal with facilities management, the system testing is presented. As a result, URSFMS is stable and reliable.
