Abstract :
In this paper, we present IntelligentGrid - a prototype system that enables a rapid resource provisioning of Grid compute nodes for immediate execution of queued high priority jobs in production Grid environments. It uses virtual machine (VM) to technology to deploy additional Grid compute nodes for the execution of serial and parallel jobs. We have built a prototype of IntelligentGrid using a well-known gLite Grid middleware and Xen hypervisor, and our experiments confirm the feasibility of this approach.
