Abstract :
In this paper a simulation model for a three-phase, three-limb core-type 1000 MVA 400/275/13 kV autotransformer is presented to study Frequency Response Analysis (FRA). The equivalent electric circuit of the magnetic core is derived based on the Principle of Duality. Leakage inductances and capacitances of windings are also included in the model. All the parameters are determined using manufacturer data sheet. FRA simulation results up to 1 kHz are validated by the measurement results. The FRA low frequency characteristics of transformers are first time explained through modeling and the dominating parameters for these characteristics identified.
