Abstract :
Soft switched current source inverters offer significant advantages for high power applications. Existing series resonant converter approaches suffer from large current and voltage stresses. The neutral commutated current source inverter offers advantages of minimal increase over nominal stresses and provides full PWM modulation while extending the switching frequency of the basic module of six switch inverter to 1.5 kHz using inverter grade thyristors with reverse recovery times of 20 μs
