Abstract :
Herein is proposed an easier understanding of pulse compression based on time-frequency distribution. The pulse compression can be achieved by time compressing or frequency compressing, which corresponds to matched filtering and Stretch processing respectively. In the processing mixing is utilized to convert the signal into a time point or a frequency point, and Fourier transforming collects the energy together. A new method, correlating in frequency domain realizing stretch processing, has been proposed to refine the theory of pulse compression. The understanding will provide reference for any other signal´s pulse compression.
