Abstract
Sectionalizing the feeder-loop into several segments with automatic switches, such as reclosers, sectionalizers and load-breakers, proves to be valuable in reducing customer outage time and increasing the reliability of power supply. In order to gain such benefits a novel automatic loop-reconfiguration scheme based on distributed intelligence is proposed in this paper. Moreover, the new scheme can be extended to the case of a multi-source distribution network without much modification. The above scheme is implemented as a function module in RDCUTM serial switch-controls that are developed by the authors. Finally, a real project is briefly described
