Abstract
The multipath ghosts generated by the coupling of walls and targets in through-the-wall radar imaging are false positives and therefore confusable with genuine targets. Here we establish a multipath model which associates each multipath ghost back to its corresponding true target location, Virtual aperture radar system is considered, which has many advantages over traditional synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system. The proposed model improves the radar system performance by aiding in ameliorating the false positives. The model is validated with simulation results using finite difference time and experimental results using through the wall radar.
