Abstract
In this work a model for lifetime prediction, based on a severity voltage parameter which depends on the PD stress, is obtained. Then it is applied in the frame of a campaign of aging tests on twisted pairs specimens. The tests output evidenced that when distorted or high frequency voltages up to 550 Hz are applied to the samples, under PD activity, the present model is more meaningful taking in account the actual waveform shape, then all the points where PD inception can occur, not simply the voltage´s maximum amplitude.
