Abstract :
An analog simulator has been built in the Power System Simulation Laboratory of EPRI, China. A series of simulation tests on dynamic characteristics of TCSC were performed on it. The results on improving response speed, transition between different reactance modes and corresponding explanation were described in this paper. SSR mitigation of TCSC was studied based on IEEE First Benchmark Model system and the frequency spectrum analysis were adopted to explain the inherent SSR mitigation
