Abstract :
A description is given of a number of computer-graphics-oriented electromagnetic fields packages that are taught in conjunction with an introductory electromagnetic fields course. This discussion focuses on four computer programs that support these topics. These programs are electrostatic and magnetostatic in nature with substantial reference made to field maps, their meaning, and what information can be gained from them. The use of a computer and computer-graphics permits each student in a class to have a problem with details unique to that student but still within a particular problem´s framework. The examples cited permit this type of uniqueness while at the same time greatly enhancing student comprehension of difficult subject matter
