Abstract
The smart card is a plastic card embedded with an integrated circuit chip that, when interfaced with a reader device, has the processing power to serve many different applications. This paper introduces a computer software named: Smart Card Simulation Software (SCSS) which is programmed using Visual Basic version 6 to simulates a terminal and a smart card communication. It supports a wide variety of possibilities to learn and work with smart card. It can be used to understand and to learn the principles of smart card operation and test various smart card applications. It can also offer monitoring a complete record of the traffic between the card and the host.
