Abstract :
A synchronous composite circuit switching technique for integrated voice/data networks is proposed. This switching technique combines real-circuit switching for the voice service, and virtual-circuit switching for the data service, on synchronous time frames with two movable boundaries. The key feature of this switching is that its time frame has fixed slots, offers flexibility in designing integrated voice/data networks. The principle of synchronous composite circuit switching is described. Some system design considerations are discussed.<>
