Abstract :
The paper presents a basic concept of evolution of computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) with genetic algorithm (GA). The paper presents a multi-agent model of the CIM system. Each agent solves its own manufacturing problem independently using the GA and has a function of strategic search through interactions with the environment. The new model can produce better solutions. This method is applied to job shop scheduling problem and transportation problem. The results show that the proposed system has a high potential for the CIM
