Abstract :
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Hong Kong and the IEEE International Conference on Teaching, Assessment, and Learning for Engineering. Engineering and computer science are two of the most important fields in any modern society because engineered products and smart systems advance the quality of life and the welfare of people. Thus, educating the next generation of leaders in these fields is always a priority for any country. The IEEE Education Society is a world leader in promoting high quality teaching and assessment. It provides a portfolio of products to help teachers learn about the latest classroom techniques, educational technology, and learning research. This conference is an important new part of that portfolio and will be held each year in Asia and Oceania. The conference provides a forum for you to network with other teachers, government officials, and industrial partners to talk about the challenges of educating engineers and computer scientists in the highly interconnected global economy of the 21st century.
