Abstract
In some of our previous works, we have shown that the two-amplitude control strategy greatly reduces the link losses in the actively clamped resonant DC-link inverter (ACRDCLI) and improves its performance. This paper presents an optimal design methodology for this proposed scheme. With detailed analysis of the operation process, the interactions between system efficiency and various parameters are shown. Several fundamentals have been made out to guide the selection of the essential parameters and a 3 kW single-phase H-bridge prototype circuit built. Experimental results and the measured efficiency (over 97.5%) agree with the theoretical results, confirming the effectiveness of the low-loss design.
