Abstract
In telecommunication applications, the demand of uninterruptible and reliable AC power systems becomes more important in the future. These practical requirements are defined as well in the relevant telecommunication product family standards. The concept of a modular system design with N+1 redundancy needs inverters which are especially designed for parallel operation. Several papers have been presented over recent years with different approaches. Further high performance AC systems need redundant AC networks with backup diesel generators. Such AC systems can be realised by adding a high performance static switch. To achieve these requirements, a new digital controlled inverter system with inverters for parallel operation and a static switch are presented in this paper.
