Abstract
Novel fluorinated hybrid sol-gel materials are developed which show internal losses <0.1dB/cm. Compact beam splitters are demonstrated exhibiting propagation losses <0.5 dB/cm, power uniformity <1 dB and coupling losses <1.5 dB for commercialization of the sol-gel amplifying splitters.
