Abstract
In this work, we propose a novel combined packet scheduling and call admission control to provide a stable video streaming service to large numbers of subscribers over WiMAX network. First, the proposed call admission control algorithm estimates the expected network throughput in the near future by using a measurement-based local linear model and the control parameter of the proposed scheduling algorithm, and performs its own functions based on information. Second, the proposed scheduling algorithm periodically updates the control parameter to pursue an effective trade-off between the quality-of-service of video streaming and the network utilization. Finally, simulation results present the strong performance of the proposed video streaming system.
