Abstract :
Telecommunication service requirements have far surpassed the traditional need for voice transmission. The world of data and finance now demand the highest reliability available. Among those elements of the network that must demonstrate high reliability is the back-up power system. The PEM regenerative fuel cell (RFC) system offers an alternative to using lead acid batteries for back-up power and the time to begin implementing RFCs is near. As-demonstrated above, the PEM regenerative fuel cell technology can both reduce cost and floor space, while maintaining high system reliability.
