Abstract
This paper deals with a UAPO based model for analyzing the propagation mechanisms of the electromagnetic waves through building walls including windows. The presence of a single window is treated here as a sequence of two planar junctions of lossy slabs modeling the structure wall-window-wall. The proposed approach is based on an extension of the Burnside and Burgener method [2] for determining the GO response. According to this last, the UAPO diffraction contribution is evaluated by using a PO approximation of the equivalent surface currents induced by an incident plane wave and by performing a uniform asymptotic evaluation of the resulting radiation integral.
