Abstract :
Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) is nowadays a promising technology for uplink transmission in 4G mobile communications systems. That is mostly due to its favorable envelope characteristics, its low PAPR and to the fact its performance is similar to that achieved with Orthogonal Frequency Domain Multiple Access (OFDMA). We present our analysis of the BER for a SC-FDMA transmission over a Rayleigh fading channel for ideal linear frequency-domain equalization. Expressions for the BER under the assumption of independence among allocated sub-carriers are derived and verified through simulations.
