Abstract
In modern wireless and mobile communication systems, small size and high performance FR components have required developing compact systems. Especially For antenna issue, miniaturization is heavily required. In recent years, practical aspects of antenna miniaturization have received significant attention. In this area, various miniaturized antennas have been proposed. In this paper, a miniaturized coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed antenna using a meander arm as a radiating element and an additional layer as superstrate to reduce the antenna area dimension and improve the performance in terms of bandwidth is proposed. Section II describes the design of the proposed antenna.
