Abstract :
Today´s power systems have become so complex that SCADA/EMS functions have to become more and more powerful to fit this situation. Obtaining a platform to test the performance of SCADA/EMS is therefore very important. The advanced DTS describes has same data, the same display and the same program as the actual SCADA/EMS. If you know how to use it, the advanced DTS system can be a very good testing platform. First, the authors analyze the jobs that DTS can perform in testing system performance and application programs. Then a method of how to use load forecast and events functions to finish this testing work is described. Finally, they design some DTS test plans in order to test some of the important features of SCADA/EMS systems
