Abstract :
This paper describes a new method for the parameter identification of large salient synchronous generators based on the combination of the tabu search technique and finite element method. In order to overcome the drawback of being trapped in local optimum, some improvements are made on the tabu search algorithm so far used for combinational optimization problems. The numerical results of parameter identification of a 300 MW generator validate the present method
