Abstract
This paper presents the application of rigorous field theory modelling for the accurate design of narrow-band waveguide channel filters. A description is given of the problems associated with narrow-band modelling, their solution, and results obtained from test filter hardware. The precision of this approach will lead to a significant reduction of development and tuning costs, especially with high-performance multiplexers for satellite communications.
