Abstract :
Fault analyses are carried out for an interconnecting system of a subsonic diagonal type MHD generator and an AC power system. When lines faults, such as single-line ground faults, occur in the transmission line, inverters are short-circuited and load currents of the MHD generator increase significantly. Some control of the firing angle is required to recover normal inverter operation. The interconnecting system can be restored to the nominal condition after this recovery of normal inverter operation
