Abstract
Performance analysis is carried out for all optical wavelength converter based on cross-phase modulation in a HNL Fiber followed by a MZI. Analysis has been carried out to find the output converted signal and the crosstalk due to the wavelength converter. The expression for signal to crosstalk ratio and the efficiency of wavelength conversion are derived. The performance results are evaluated numerically for DSF and SMF fibers. It is found that the wavelength converter provides significant wavelength conversion efficiency over a wide range of detuning among the pump and probe wavelengths. It is notice that DSF fiber offers higher efficiency than SMF.
