Abstract :
In recent years, the load following capability of thermal power plants has been actively researched, as power system interconnection unavoidably brings about complicated load variations. The key to improving the load following capability is the control of the fuel supply to the burner, which is provided by the coal mill. The conventional method of controlling the coal mill is by a PID system, which deteriorates when operation deviates from the set point. An expert system of a fuzzy PID algorithm for the fan mill of direct firing pulverizing systems is proposed in this paper. The proposed algorithm not only improves the dynamic characteristics of main steam pressure control but also improves the load following capability
