Abstract :
We introduce a kind of modulation code, which has high coding efficiency on multi-level run-length-limited recording disks. In this paper, we will insert the state control symbol in the conventional finite state modulation techniques to increase the opportunity for picking out codewords. With multi-level run- length-limited characteristics, the inserted state control symbols can provide a plurality of sets of different signals for selection during modulation encoding. Thereby, the DC and low-frequency components can be well controlled.
