Abstract
Slot-ring antennas are attractive because of their inherently folded geometry, large bandwidth, and dual-polarization capability. Hong demonstrated that the resonance frequency of a slot-ring antenna can be reduced by capacitive loading. Slot-ring antennas that are tunable or reconfigurable over a small frequency range have been presented using either capacitive loading or reconfigurable matching networks. This paper presents a square slot-ring antenna that tunes from 5 GHz to less than 2 GHz with capacitive loading.
