Abstract :
Describes the development of the expert system in designing a new production line. The system includes the hierarchical relation knowledge for machine tool mechanism, machining technology and machine tool industry. The system has the elimination reasoning process after the examination process for machining precision. The next reasoning process is the reasoning incorporated into the multiplicative utility function simultaneously to examine multi-evaluations such as machine tool cost and machine tool service system. In this reasoning process, the knowledge base including fuzzy knowledge is efficiently used
