Abstract
In this paper, a design approach for controlling a composite plate structure subject to aeroelastic loading using piezoelectric actuators and sensors is presented. The distributed nature of the piezoelectric actuation and sensing is exploited in the control design algorithm. The control design is carried out directly in the matrix second order framework without converting the dynamics to state space form. The relative merits of the proposed methodology are explained
