Abstract :
Newly developed wavelength stabilized 980 nm pump lasers demonstrate uncooled operation with >100 mW ex-fiber power over a record -15°C to 120°C. With uncooled modules using these lasers, low cost optical amplifiers with ultra low power dissipation for metro systems become possible.
