Abstract :
This telepathology study was designed to evaluate several parameters like the specific need for telepathology, practical equipment handling, image quality and acceptance of a static imaging system for consultations between pathologists. The study shows that the most highlighted medical need for telepathology in Sweden involve diagnostic questions about: cancers in general, grade of malignancy, malignancy of soft tissue, haematopoetic system, skeletal system, breast, uro-genital systems and in the field of dermatology, inflammations and transplantations. A static-image transfer system was used but the assessment clearly shows that pathologists prefer a dynamic imaging telepathology system for the future
