Abstract :
An infinite linear periodic array of densely arranged radiators having small transverse dimensions is considered. It is analytically shown that the radiation efficiency of the array with non-uniform excitation corresponding to shaping a sector radiation pattern is determined by averaging the mismatch efficiency of the same array excited with identical amplitudes and linearly progressing phases, over the region of scanning coinciding with the region occupied by the radiation pattern.
