Abstract :
The problem of protecting route optimization related signaling in Mobile IPv6 is not easy to handle. The official solution, as contained in the Mobile IPv6 standard (RFC 3775), is vulnerable to certain eavesdropping and impersonation attacks. Alternative solutions, as proposed by ourselves and by others, each have their shortcomings. In this paper, we analyze and compare the alternatives, and make recommendations.
