Abstract :
This paper provides an interactive method for decorating 2-dimensional barcode with some illustrations inside the code without detracting machine-readability and stored information. The proposed method allows a user to watch the search progress of non-Interactive Evolutionary Computation (non-IEC) and to evaluate solution candidates intuitively such as Interactive Evolutionary Computation (IEC). The proposed method therefore produces decorated barcodes in which illustrations are positioned in order to satisfy user preferences and to minimize deficit of embedded information which can be revised by Reed-Solomon error correction code. Experimental results have shown that the proposed method allows users to find desirable solutions effectively, and is suited for tasks in which users can easily imagine favorite solutions but hardly verify their feasibility.
