Abstract :
The employment of image processing techniques appears to be wide-spreading in several application areas, with special reference to the medical context. A neuro-fuzzy approach for pixel classification is detailed and its application is proposed to the analysis of dermatological images of nevi. An ensemble of experimental results is provided to demonstrate the usefulness of the introduced methodology and to show the possible benefits deriving from its employment in clinical diagnosis.
